Džejla Glavović of Bosnia & Herzegovina became an international beauty queen when she was crowned as the second Miss Earth on October 20, 2002. Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. She won the pageant's second edition, which was held in Quezon City, Philippines. She was the first delegate from her country to win a title from one of the four major international beauty pageants namely: Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Universe, and Miss World.
